CLSMSS Embraces Chinese Culture with Quality Education Fund Our school held a school-wide Chinese Culture Workshop, made possible by a grant from the Quality Education Fund. This exciting initiative, involving all students, aims to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Chinese arts and culture.
Students across all grade levels have been immersed in hands-on workshops, each tailored to their age group:
S1 & S2: Crafting fragrant sachets (香囊), filling their classrooms with delightful aromas.
S3 & S4: Creating vibrant paper lanterns (花燈), symbols of joy and good fortune.
S5: Building a meticulous paper model of the iconic Temple of Heaven (天壇祈年殿) in Beijing, a testament to ancient architectural ingenuity.
Each workshop began with engaging video presentations, providing students with historical context and insights into the cultural significance of their chosen craft. This immersive experience combined learning with creativity, fostering a deeper appreciation for Chinese traditions and strengthening students' sense of cultural identity.
This meaningful school activity has undoubtedly enriched students' cultural horizons and fostered their appreciation of Chinese culture. The workshops have been a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on our students and reminding us of the importance of preserving and celebrating our cultural heritage.
