To commemorate World Children’s Day (20 November), our school’s Community Service Team and UNICEF Club jointly organized a series of activities on 20, 21, and 24 November. These initiatives were designed to deepen teachers’ and students’ understanding of children’s rights, to promote the safeguarding of children from violence, exploitation, and discrimination, and to nurture empathy, civic responsibility, and global citizenship. The programme not only reflected the Education Bureau’s vision of whole‑person development and values education, but also embodied UNICEF’s mission to ensure that every child is protected, respected, and heard.
The “Love in Action” Charity Sales fostered a compassionate and united atmosphere across the campus. Teachers and students actively participated in snack sales, transforming everyday treats into acts of care. The launch of World Children’s Day themed keychains reminded the community of the importance of safeguarding children’s rights, while house‑designed keychains highlighted teamwork and the collective spirit of service. Beyond fundraising, the charity sales provided meaningful opportunities for students to practise empathy and social responsibility, ensuring that each contribution became a step toward positive social change. All proceeds were donated to UNICEF and S.K.H. St. Christopher’s Home, extending warmth and hope to children in need.
At the same time, the Children’s Rights Quiz Challenge engaged students in interactive learning about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Through lively questions and discussions, participants explored the fundamental rights that every child should enjoy, strengthened self‑protection skills, and were encouraged to express their views and take part in decision‑making. The activity reinforced the principle that children are not only the future but also the strength of today, while inviting the wider community to join in safeguarding children’s well‑being and promoting respect for diversity.
Together, the Charity Sales and Quiz Challenge exemplified the integration of the Education Bureau’s educational goals with UNICEF’s global advocacy for children’s rights. By combining learning and action, our school strives to cultivate a caring, respectful, and inclusive culture, ensuring that every child grows up in safety, dignity, and hope.
