The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of millions of people around the world for almost three years. With the rage of pandemic and the age of uncertainties, maintaining both physical and mental well-being is of paramount importance. Therefore, the Counselling Team, the Art Department, the Home Economics Department, the Music Department, the PE Department, the Health Education Committee, the Healthy School Programme, the Photography Club and the SEN Team jointly organized a Wellness Carnival from 9th June to 15th June, 2022. The main objective of the Carnival was to enhance our students’ stress coping strategies.
Similar to 2021’s Carnival, a myriad of activities and workshops were organized for students. Besides the popular activities like distributing Cheer-up Kits, Song Dedication and 5-minute Mindful Exercise, this year, Carnival activities were full of “spice” and “scent”! We had workshops including Chocolate Art, DIY hand cream and Alcohol Ink Art. Students could take pictures of their ‘chill out’ moments and join the Photography Competition. For more active students, they were happy to take the challenge of “Walking 10,000 steps a day”. Finally, students joined the Thank-you Card Election to express our gratitude to the Hong Kong medical teams for their unconditional support and care during the difficult times in the fifth wave of pandemic in Hong Kong.
Students and teachers had tremendous fun during the Carnival! Through all activities, a positive and supportive atmosphere has been built and different stress coping strategies have been successfully introduced to students in an interesting and educational way! The Carnival ended with happiness and success.
“Be mindful, be joyful, we love Wellness Carnival!”
